Finding coupon codes

Do you ever feel like your missing out on an on-line deal when you have nothing to enter in the ‘Coupon Code’ box? Coupon Codes are also referred to as ‘Discount Codes’ and ‘Promo Codes’. In some cases, coupon codes can be used in combination with other rebates and discounts. Here are some ideas to track one down.

1) Search the web. Beware of misleading offers and/or the need to disclose personal information. In the search engine, type in the name of the company and the words “coupon codes” or “coupons”.

2) Search social media or ask for these codes on social media.

3) Search the company’s website. Some companies are providing coupon codes within their site. Check the header, footers, or “Offers” sections. They’re usually not clearly available so you made need work at it.

4) Contact the company and request a code. If one exists the company will likely provide it to you. There may be more than one code which vary in value. Try calling before sending an email or some “inquiry” form on their website.

5) You may be asked to complete a registration form, join a mailing list, survey, or some other disclosure of personal information to get a coupon code. You may need to provide an email address and then the company will send a link to click which brings up a coupon code or the email may have a coupon code within itself.

6) There are businesses and websites that help you find Coupon Codes. Again, beware of scams and conduct due diligence prior to disclosing personal information. There are browser plug-ins that do this work behind the scenes while you shop. If a code is found for the item your buying, these plug-ins can search and apply codes before you checkout. Some examples are Cently (Coupon Follow), WikiBuy, and Honey. We do not have an affiliation nor do we recieve a commission from the three companies listed below.

7) If the coupon code isn’t working (which isn’t rare) it’s possibly expired and you should contact the company.

Using the Coupon Code

Using the Coupon Code

During the checkout process there will be a field to enter the code and this field may have various names. Once the code is entered and before you submit your final acceptance, the discount should appear. You should be able to cleary see the cost reduction related to the code.

If it doesn’t appear to be working the code may be expired, entered incorrectly, or simply a technical glitch. Contact the company if you have questions.

Linked Promotions

For linked promotions you should be directed to the product or checkout cart and the discount should already be applied. Some may have other instructions prior to the discount being applied but again, if you feel the codes isn’t working, contact the company.
